Notifications Essentials is a streamlined version of the AUTOPROP Notifications Suite, designed for users who want critical property intelligence without MLS® listing notifications.
With Notifications Essentials, you can monitor changes across specific areas or selected properties and receive automatic updates delivered directly to your email and AUTOPROP dashboard.
What is Notifications Essentials?
Notifications Essentials allows you to track changes related to:
Land use and zoning
Development activity
Broker Listings
Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) boundaries
Parcel changes
Planning updates
Notifications can be set up in two ways:
Watched Areas – monitor all properties within a defined area.
Saved Properties – monitor specific properties that you select.
Once configured, you can review all activity through email notifications or directly within AUTOPROP.
1. Watched Areas
Watched Areas allow you to monitor changes occurring within a geographic area.
This could include:
Neighbourhoods
Commercial corridors
Development areas
Farm areas
Investment zones
You can create Watched Areas using either predefined areas or custom boundaries.
Option A: Select an Area from a List
Click + New Notification.
Select Select an Area from a List.
Choose:
An Area
One or more Sub-Areas/Communities
Click Add to List to add the selected areas to your Watched Area.
You can continue adding additional areas if desired.
When finished, click Continue.
Option B: Draw a Custom Boundary
Need to monitor a custom geographic area?
Use Draw a Boundary.
Click + New Notification.
Select Draw a Boundary.
Draw your desired area directly on the map.
Click Continue.
This option is ideal for:
Redevelopment corridors
Prospecting farms
Assembly areas
Custom market areas
Configure Notification Types
After selecting or drawing your area:
Enter a descriptive name for your Watched Area.
Select the notification types you would like to monitor.
Click Save & Preview.
Watched Area Notification Types
Notifications Essentials tracks important changes on a daily and weekly basis.
Broker Listings
Receive notifications when commercial or off-market listings are added or removed.
Land Use Plans and Zoning
Monitor planning changes, including:
Official Community Plans (OCP)
Local Area Plans (LAP)
Zoning updates
Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR)
Track changes affecting Agricultural Land Reserve properties.
New PIDs
Receive alerts when new parcels are created within your Watched Area.
Available for Watched Areas only.
2. Saved Properties
Saved Properties allow you to monitor specific parcels rather than an entire geographic area.
This is ideal when tracking:
Development sites
Land assemblies
Prospecting opportunities
Client properties
Investment properties
Select Properties
You can select properties using any AUTOPROP selection method, including:
Address Search
Right-click selection
Rectangle selection tool
Polygon selection tool
SiteFinder (subscription required)
Examples include:
Non-strata industrial properties
Redevelopment opportunities
Commercial corridors
Assembly candidates
Save the Properties
Once the properties are selected:
Click + New Notification.
Choose Save Selected.
You can then:
Create a new folder, or
Add the properties to an existing folder
Create a Folder
When creating a new folder:
Enter a folder name.
Enable Turn on notifications for this folder.
Continue to configure your notification types.
Saved Property Notification Types
Saved Property folders support the following notifications:
Broker Listings
Track nearby commercial and broker listing activity.
Land Use Plans and Zoning
Monitor planning and zoning changes affecting your selected properties.
Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR)
Receive updates relating to ALR status.
Development Applications
Track development and rezoning applications affecting your saved properties.
Available for Saved Properties only.
3. Viewing Notifications
Notifications can be reviewed through email or directly within AUTOPROP.
Email Notifications
Notification emails are sent daily at approximately 8:00 AM.
Emails summarize changes detected within:
Watched Areas
Saved Property folders
Icons help identify the notification source:
Pin icon = Watched Area notification
Folder icon = Saved Property notification
Click Open in AUTOPROP to review the details.
In-App Notifications
To review notifications within AUTOPROP:
Click the Notification Bell in the top-right corner.
Select a notification.
You can switch between:
Property Information notifications
Broker Listings notifications
Additional Actions
From the notification dashboard, you can:
Display Properties on the Map
Select one or more properties and click Select on Map.
Export Results
Export notification results to CSV for use in Excel or Google Sheets.
Manage Notifications
At the top of the notification screen you can:
Turn notifications on or off
Renew notifications for another 365 days
Adjust notification settings
Modify the monitored area
Delete the Watched Area or Saved Properties folder
