AUTOPROP makes it easy to identify properties within a specific zoning designation, load property data, and export the results for analysis, prospecting, or client searches.
This workflow is ideal for building databases of properties that share the same zoning classification.
Step 1: Isolate a Zoning Designation
Navigate to the municipality you would like to analyze.
Click Zone Search in the bottom-left corner of the map.
Select:
Municipality
Zoning designation
Choose a highlight colour that stands out clearly on the map.
Click Add to the Map.
Click Done.
All properties within the selected zoning designation will be highlighted on the map.
Bright colours such as yellow, green, or pink are often easiest to identify.
Step 2: Select Properties Within the Zone
Use the map selection tools located beside the address search bar to select properties within the highlighted zoning area.
You can select:
Entire zones
Specific blocks
Individual sections of a zoning designation
Step 3: Handle Strata Properties
If a Strata Selector window appears during the selection process, you can choose whether to include or exclude strata parcels.
For many land assembly and redevelopment searches, users often exclude strata properties to focus on:
Single PID parcels
Properties with fewer ownership complexities
Sites that may be easier to assemble
Step 4: Open the Properties Table
Once your properties have been selected:
Click View Properties in the bottom-left corner of the map.
Open the Properties Table.
Click Load Data.
Step 5: Load Property Data
Select the information you would like to load for all selected properties.
Commonly used data points include:
Lot Size
Sales History
Year Constructed
Assessment Values
Additional data fields can also be selected depending on your research objectives.
In some municipalities, including Vancouver, lot width and depth data may also be available.
Step 6: Export Your Database
Once the data has finished loading:
Select Export to Excel (CSV).
AUTOPROP will generate a spreadsheet containing all selected properties and loaded data.
Step 7: Analyze Your Results
Open the exported spreadsheet in Excel or Google Sheets to:
Filter properties by lot size
Sort by assessment value
Review sales history
Identify redevelopment opportunities
Build client-specific property lists
The exported database can be saved and reused for future research and prospecting efforts.
Common Uses
