Written by Joep Olthuis

AUTOPROP provides access to valuable planning and development information through the Layers panel located in the top-right corner of the map.

Viewing Land Use Layers

To access land use information:

  1. Open the Layers panel.

  2. Expand Land Use.

  3. Select the layers you would like to display.

Available layers may include:

  • Zoning

  • Official Community Plans (OCP)

  • Neighbourhood Concept Plans (NCP)

  • Local Area Plans (LAP)

  • ALR

  • First Nations Parcels

  • Other municipal planning layers

These layers allow you to view planning boundaries and, where available, access additional information from the municipality.

Viewing Development Applications

To view development activity:

  1. Open the Layers panel.

  2. Expand Development.

  3. Enable the desired development layers.

Depending on the municipality, you may be able to view:

  • Active development applications

  • Completed or inactive development applications

This information can help identify current and future development activity in an area.

Viewing Layer Details

Once a layer has been enabled:

  1. Click on any property or area on the map.

  2. A pop-up will display information about the selected layer.

  3. The highlighted boundary shows the area associated with that planning designation or development application.

For development applications, the pop-up may include project details and links to additional information.

If a blue hyperlink is available, click it to view the full development application on the municipality's website.

Tip

You can enable multiple layers simultaneously to compare zoning, planning designations, and development activity for a property or neighbourhood.
