If you are interesting in prospecting for development sites using AUTOPROP, you'll want to familiarize yourself with the Land Use Plan Search tool which gives users the ability to identify, visualize and database properties within areas under study.

You can search for specific designations within a land use plan including Official Community Plans (OCP), Neighbourhood Concept Plans (NCP) or Local Area Plans (LAP).

To give you an example, you can isolate and highlight designations on the map that allow for higher densities such as townhouse, or 4-6 story apartment complexes. You can then select the properties that fall within the bounds of your targeted designations for prospecting purposes.

Follow these steps to try out the tool:

  1. Navigate to an area of interest;

  2. Click the Land Use Plan Search button in the bottom left corner of the map;

  3. Select the Municipality and the Municipal Plan Type (OCP, NCP or LAP);

  4. Under Land Use Plan, find the designation/density that you'd like to target;

  5. Select a bright colour that is easy to find on the map;

  6. Click 'Add to the Map'.

If you like to add more designations, repeat steps 3-5.

You'll see the selected designations highlighted on the map. Click on the colour to display an information bubble with a description and link to the plan document.

Right click on the map to select the underlying properties, or use the selection tools to select multiple properties at once.
