Adding PIDs to a Database Using iBOMB

Adding PIDs to a database with just civic address, iBOMB

Written by Joep Olthuis

If you have a database of civic addresses that does not include Property Identifiers (PIDs), iBOMB can quickly match those addresses to properties and automatically populate the missing PIDs.

This is particularly useful when working with mailing lists, prospecting databases, or imported property records that only contain civic addresses.

Before You Begin

Your spreadsheet should contain:

  • A column for the civic address

  • A separate column for the municipality

Including the municipality helps ensure that iBOMB correctly identifies properties when the same address exists in multiple communities.

If your spreadsheet does not include a municipality column, add one before importing the file.

Step 1: Open iBOMB

  1. Log in to AUTOPROP.

  2. Click the Apps button in the top-left corner.

  3. Open iBOMB.

Step 2: Prepare Your File

iBOMB supports:

  • CSV (.csv)

  • Excel (.xlsx)

If your file is in another format:

  1. Open it in Excel.

  2. Click File → Save As.

  3. Save the file as either CSV or XLSX.

Step 3: Import Your Database

  1. Click Choose File in the iBOMB command panel.

  2. Select your CSV or XLSX file.

  3. Upload the file.

Step 4: Map Your Columns

After importing the file, iBOMB will ask how it should identify the properties.

Select:

  • Address Column → Your civic address field

  • Municipality Column → Your municipality field

You may also need to select the appropriate worksheet if your data is stored on a sheet other than Sheet 1.

Once your selections are complete, click Show Data.

Step 5: Review the Results

iBOMB will plot the imported properties on the map and automatically identify the corresponding PIDs.

The PID information is added to the imported dataset behind the scenes.

Step 6: Export the Updated Database

To export the updated data:

  1. Click Export to CSV.

  2. Download the generated file.

The exported file will contain the original property data along with the newly matched PIDs.

The file is typically downloaded to:

  • Your browser's download area

  • Your Downloads folder

Step 7: Use the PIDs in AUTOPROP

Once the PIDs have been added:

  1. Copy the PIDs from the exported file.

  2. Open AUTOPROP.

  3. Use Manual PID Entry to search the properties.

  4. Load additional property data as needed.

You can now take full advantage of AUTOPROP's property research and prospecting tools.

Important Note

Address matching is highly accurate, but occasional discrepancies can occur due to:

  • Duplicate addresses

  • Strata properties

  • Address formatting differences

  • Municipal data inconsistencies

We recommend spot-checking a sample of the results, particularly for strata properties and addresses that may have multiple matches.
