Setting Your Default Email Application
Reports and Summary Sheets in AUTOPROP can be emailed directly from the platform. To ensure this works smoothly, you’ll need to set your preferred default email application.
If your default email app isn’t set correctly, you will not be able to send any links directly from AutoProp which will result in a blank page or no activity at all.
This guide will walk you through how to choose the right app so emails always open where you expect.
Choose Your Device:

Using the Search box on your task bar (bottom left) type in Default Apps and select the first option (Best match)
Select Default Apps.
Choose your preferred app (e.g., Outlook).
If you use webmail like Gmail, select your browser (e.g., Chrome).
Click .eml and MAILTO select your default app.

Open the Mail app
(Press Command + Spacebar, type “Mail,” and hit Enter).
In the top menu, click Mail > Preferences.
Under the General tab, find Default email reader.
Select your preferred email application from the dropdown menu.

Open Chrome and go to:
chrome://settings/handlersEnsure “Sites can ask to handle protocols” is turned on.
If it’s already enabled, toggle it off and on again to refresh the setting.
Open Gmail in Chrome.
Click the Protocol Handler icon in the address bar.
Select Allow Gmail to open all email links.
Once your default email app is set, any email links or AUTOPROP reports you send will open in your chosen application automatically.
